Trust Board

Philip was born in Hull and has always lived and worked within Humberside.  Philip is a Chartered Chemist and a Chartered Health & Safety Practitioner and was employed in the local chemical industry in a variety of technical and managerial roles prior to establishing his own health & safety consultancy in 1999.

He has been a non-executive director of Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2004 and was a member of Humberside Probation Board between 2001 and 2007.

Philip was appointed as Board Chair from 1st July 2012. His appointment will run for a period of three years.

Peter joined the then Humberside Probation Service in 1985 as a Probation Officer in Scunthorpe. He was promoted to Senior Probation Officer in 1991 following which he held team management roles in Hull, Goole, Grimsby and at HMP Full Sutton.

He was promoted to Assistant Chief Officer in 2000 and has held senior management responsibility for most aspects of service delivery.

Peter managed the initial transition to Trust status in 2008 and became Director of Probation for Hull & East Riding when Trust status was reconfirmed in 2009.

He was appointed Trust Chief Executive in March 2012.

Ian has been a member of Humberside Probation Trust for five years and recently acted as Interim Board Chair. He has also been Audit Chair.

Now retired from full time work, his background is as an HR Manager, mainly in the private sector. He is also a non-judicial member of the Employment Tribunals and an independent member of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Standards Committee.

Mike is retired, but most recently was General Manager of two food processing plants. Over his career he has worked principally in manufacturing, but has held senior management positions in HR, Training, and Project Management.

Mike joined the Humberside Trust Board in the hope that his wide experience in the private sector would be useful in the public sector.

Neil is currently in his third term as a Board member. He has a background as a Social Worker and Social Care Manager and until recently was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln in Health and Social Care. Additionally he has worked as an independent complaints investigator in respect of Social Services complaints.

Neil has been a magistrate since 1998 and currently sits on the adult and youth panels with the Doncaster Bench.

Tony’s background is in nursing. He has a Masters in Business Administration with 36 years experience of working in the NHS, mainly in general hospitals and more recently in primary care. He has also worked for a Government watchdog inspecting and assessing standards of NHS health care and has been involved in a review of commissioning arrangements for prison healthcare services.

His areas of expertise and interest include project and strategic management, the commissioning and purchase of health services and also the systems to measure quality of care. He has been a member of Humberside Probation Trust Board for nearly four years and is also chair of the Trust’s Audit Committee.
